Sherriff Agencies was founded in 1996 by Richard Sherriff & his wife Judy and is based in Northern Tasmania servicing selected retail stores throughout Tasmania.
We operate as manufacturer's agents for several major consumer electrical appliance brands as well as our recreational division, which includes actively designing, sourcing and distributing lifestyle and sporting products.
Over the years as manufacturer agents we have serviced many key brands with products ranging from Small Appliances, Floorcare, High End Cooking, Mowers, Audio Visual and Cameras. The expansion into the recreational side of the business began in 2005 and was driven by our passion for the outdoors.
We operate out of two warehouses which are conveniently located in Launceston which also house our offices and meeting/show room.

Employees
Richard is the Managing Director of the company & started Sherriff Agencies with Judy, leaving Sunbeam Appliances as Tasmanian State Manager after serving them for 21 years. He has dedicated his whole career to the sales industry and as such not only has a wealth of knowledge but has also established great relationships with major retailers, small businesses and local community members around Tasmania.
Sherriff Agencies continues to service the Sunbeam brand today & Richard has been rewarded with achieving legend status with the brand by compiling over 30 years of service!
Richard was also instrumental in establishing Dyson as a market leading brand in Tasmania. Richard sold the first Dyson machines into Tasmanian retailers and between him and Matt established the brand as a market leader in Tasmania over the 17 year tenure. Dyson took over all Tasmania sales in November 2015 which marked the end of sales agents for their the Dyson brand in Australia.
In 2006 Richard decided to branch out the business to include importation, warehousing & distribution. This has become a continually developing segment of the business & is expanding year on year.
Judy has been an integral part of the business from day one and assists with customer service and administration.
In Richard’s spare time he enjoys golf, fishing and travelling/dining out with Judy. Richard & Judy also treasure time with their grandchildren.
Matt comes from a mechanical background. He joined the company in 2003 after returning from his position as Shift Leading Hand in the WA gold mines. After starting in the business, Matt completed a Certificate IV in Business Administration.
He is a Co-Director of the company and is responsible for managing the electrical agency division of the business as well as continuing to develop the recreational business. Matt has been responsible for developing the Hawk Sniper range of lures and working with Hayabusa Japan on species specific rigs for the Tassie market. His passion for fishing and the outdoors have been instrumental in this area.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Trish, and family as well as fishing, kayaking & camping.
